flicker-light medication for the drag—
pull on the pen, our breath commingles,
no difference between cloud and heat,
what was and what could have been:
racetrack hearts on a checkered trail.
lay me down, set your mark,
call your name, ticket permission—
i soar upended, the melody of
quietsoft and distancefled.
oh, the sugar-candy kiss,
i plummet with a pull,
drawn and quartered,
lost in dissymmetry.
a spiral of my own make,
the swollen tide of unrest,
a cannon in my chest,
i leave you tickticking—
night blooms into daylight,
neon drowned in (ultra)violet—
rollercoaster highs and
empty-promise lows—
and still, i beg admission.
