Lithium

a Poem by soma

overhead,
the sandsky shifts
in lachrymose,
shelled birdsongs
hollowed like
supped marrow.

i drift,
far outside your wake,
jellied like a cloud—
through rustbone
hulls and skeletons;
forest tangle and
neon stars.

my heart,
shrunken shriveled,
held too long
under saltpeter.
